SNHU Career & Professional Development Internship Scholarship

Through the on-going support of SNHU alumni donors, the Career & Professional Development Center in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Advancement, can offer funding to help students with expenses related to internship experiences.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY

Scholarship opportunities are available for all students (25 credits, minimum GPA: 2.5)
Any major, any field of interest
Demonstration of how the experience contributes to academic, professional, and personal development

Stipend Amount: Varies by award ($500-$2,000)

Academic Credit: Students participating in this program must be registered to receive academic credit for the internship experience. Please contact the Career & Professional Development Center to learn more about academic internships and course registration.

Short Essay Outline
A short essay that describes the internship opportunity and explains why it is important to you.

Paragraph 1: The basic details of the internship, including:

Name of the employer and title or role for which you have received an offer;
Start and end dates for the internship;
The number of hours that will be worked per week; and
Brief overview of the tasks and responsibilities you will have as an intern.

Paragraph 2: Career Goals and Academic Preparation

What are your personal, professional, and/or academic interests and goals? What sparked these interests and what motivates you to achieve these goals?
How has your major, coursework, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and/or prior work experience(s) prepared you for the internship?
How does the internship support your career goals?

Paragraph 3: Statement of Financial Need

Projected expenses associated with pursuing the internship (include: travel, transportation, housing, and food expenses)
Information regarding any additional financial obligations that might be relevant to include
Additional information regarding compensation, including hourly wage or stipend amount (if applicable)
Total amount requested (maximum amount: $2,000.00)
